Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager 2010 (FIM 2010) is the identity management solution built on Microsoft Identity Lifecycle Manager (ILM) 2007 and Microsoft Identity Integration Server (MIIS).

FIM 2010 facilitates self-service tasks such as group and distribution list management. For greater usability, self-service processes can either be accessed in a SharePoint portal or directly in Microsoft Office Outlook. FIM 2010 also offers credential management, including smart card management and self-service password reset. FIM 2010 is an extensible platform supporting integration via web services and customized workflows using Windows Workflow Foundation.
